Fremantle are flying in 2022 with the Dockers sitting second on the AFL ladder with a stellar 6-1 record.

Justin Longmuir has been able to implement a terrific defensive game plan that has allowed Fremantle to concede just 435 points for the season (62 points against per game). That is the second-best record in the league, only one point behind Melbourne.

Out-of-contract defender Griffin Logue has found himself in and out of the team this season which will have no doubt caught the eye of a number of clubs across the league, with those in Victoria reportedly the most interested in his services.

Fremantle CEO Simon Garlic spoke before Fremantle's incredible win over Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday and said that the club had been given no indication that Logue would be lured away by potential offers from home.

Garlic said he believes Logue's engagement suggests a deal between club and player will be reached before too long.

“Griffin is really invested, he’s been in and out of the side a little bit this year and that’s a really healthy situation for us and I think it’s a really good thing for Griffin,” Garlic said on SEN’s Crunch Time.

“Every time he’s come in he’s responded really well and has played some phenomenal footy and has a great opportunity today.

“All you can judge is upon his level of engagement and investment in his teammates and what we’re trying to do which has been first class.

“He’s a local boy, there are great opportunities, the club has invested a lot in Griffin, and he’s invested a lot in the club.

“I’m really optimistic about where that stands, there’s obvious interest because of the conditions in the AFL industry so that’s going to be a natural discussion but I’m pretty comfortable that we’ll get there.”

Herald Sun reporter Jon Ralph revealed that a number of Victorian clubs had been casting an eye over Logue but no specific teams were named in the report.
