Fremantle forward Michael Frederick has been handed a one-match suspension by the Dockers after it was deemed the forward didn't meet team standards.
The club said in a statement on Tuesday night that Frederick was to miss their Round 13 clash with Hawthorn after it was found that the 22-year-old had been drinking alcohol after the Dockers' win over Brisbane.
Fremantle had a 6-day break between games this week and as with most clubs if not all, there is usually no drinking allowed on a 6-day break or less.
Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell said the club was disappointed in the actions of Frederick.
โMichael is remorseful and makes no excuses for his actions,โ Bell said.
โThe club is proud of the culture it has built in recent years and that is mainly due to the strong commitment to the trademark that the players and staff adhere to every day.
โThe club will continue to support Michael so he is equipped to make better decisions in the future.โ
โMichael is an outstanding young man who has made an error, but we are really confident that he will learn from this experience. We look forward to a demonstration of his commitment to our trademark moving forwards.โ
