Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said he is relieved that captain Alex Pearce has appeared to have escaped injury after his knee copped a knock during Friday night's win over Adelaide.
Pearce was rested the previous week for the Dockers' trip to Melbourne as the club looks to prepare its stars for a tilt at a maiden flag.
The Fremantle skipper sent scares through the coaches box when he copped a friendly-fire knee-on-knee knock from teammate Oscar McDonald during the match against the Crows, with Pearce looking sore and struggling to walk for minutes after.
However, Longmuir said signs are looking positive for the 31-year-old after he played out the game and that the club won't look to rest him for the final round of the season against Carlton next week.
"We are on an eight-day break," Longmuir said in the post-game press conference.
"If (Pearce) is right to go, he will play. He had a week off last week, so we don't really want to go week off, week on and then another two weeks off. If he is right, which it looks like he will be, he will play.
"It did make me think, 'Why did I rest him last week to save him from that if he had hurt himself', but thankfully he is fine."
Key forward Patrick Voss had a dour night on the scoreboard and a quiet first half of the match (one disposal) as he was well held by the likes of the Adelaide key defenders Mark Keane and Josh Worrell.
While he didn't hit the goals directly, Voss did fight back in the second half through his physicality as he finished with seven disposals, seven tackles, seven score involvements and three goal assists.
Longmuir said he was pleased with how Voss was able to impact the game in a different way.
"That ability to stay in the moment, (Voss) probably didn't have the night ball in hand that he would have liked," he said.
"He didn't attract the ball as much as he would have liked and he didn't get the ball kicked to him as well as he would have liked but he was able to stay in the moment and impact the game in another way."
