Less than a week removed from a grand final loss as traumatic as they come, Fremantle assistant coach Jaymie Graham has been spotted leaving Perth airport in the hopes of landing a senior coaching position.
Channel 10 cameras stopped the highly touted assistant to enquire of the reasons for his travels, with the chance to present himself and his coaching philosophy to North Melbourne stakeholders, in the hopes of replacing Alastair Clarkson, his answer.
Graham has already been unsuccessful in the processes undertaken by Carlton and Essendon, with those clubs deciding to promote interim coach Josh Fraser, and hire credentialed former player Mark McVeigh, respectively.
Graham appeared excited by the opportunity.
“Clearly I didn't expect you guys (the media) to be here,” he said.
“I'm headed over there (to Melbourne). I'm in the process, which is a good opportunity for myself.
“It's just an exciting opportunity, if I was to be successful. Clearly I'd like an opportunity."

The Kangaroos sensationally sacked four-time premiership coach Alastair Clarkson in September, after another campaign that failed to yield a finals appearance.
Graham, alongside the likes of Brisbane's Cameron Bruce, Adelaide's Murray Davis, Hawthorn's Adrian Hickmott and Collingwood's Hayden Skipworth, is viewed as one of the more ready assistant coaches in the AFL landscape.
