Former Gold Coast and Carlton tall Daniel Gorringe has shown off a new tattoo of Suns coach Stuart Dew following a lost bet from last year.

Ahead of Carlton's Round 21 clash with the Suns last August, Gorringe was more than happy to wager some real estate on his body should the Blues fail to defeat the struggling Queensland club.

The Suns were able to amass a 19-point victory away from home at Marvel Stadium, prompting pressure on Gorringe to stay true to his word.

Now, the 29-year-old has pulled through, having undergone five hours of pain before unveiling his new ink, featuring Dew.

"Thanks to Carlton and Gold Coast. Look forward to never betting on you guys again," Gorringe tweeted.

Fans were quick to leave their own comments and opinions on the tattoo, leaving some mixed reviews for the former AFL ruckman.

Gorringe played 26 games at AFL level, making his debut with the Suns in 2011 before moving to Carlton ahead of the 2016 season, where he played just the four matches before being delisted.

The South Australian product is set to play for Northern Football League side Greensborough in 2022, joining former Blue Tom Bell at the local football club.
