Former AFL player Jed Lamb has been appointed as coach of the Warragul Football Netball Club for the next two seasons.

His appointment comes after joining the club in October 2021, putting together a standout 2022 season booting 71 goals, including a 10-goal haul against Drouin despite the side finishing eighth with only four wins and a draw.

Before joining the Gippsland League, Lamb would play in the Southern Football Netball League with Division 1 side Bentleigh.

Lamb's AFL career began after being selected with Pick 21 in the 2010 National Draft by the Sydney Swans, but he would have to wait until 2013 before making his AFL debut.

After a sole season in the Harbour City, Lamb would cross to rivals GWS, donning the orange and charcoal for two seasons before returning back to Victoria at the end of 2015 to play for Carlton.

The small forward would go on to play 44 games for the Blues, with one of his best performances coming against Hawthorn in Round 22, 2017. He would have a significant impact booting two vital majors and in the process getting under the skin of James Sicily, receiving 6 free kicks.

In six seasons at the highest level, Lamb played 66 games kicking 43 goals.

"The Warragul Football Netball Club is proud to announce Jed Lamb as the Senior football coach for the next two years," a club post reads.

"We look forward to fully resourcing Jed and our playing group to the next level and give them every opportunity to succeed."

The 29-year-old replaces Dean Alger after three seasons in charge of Warragul.
