Derby Day is one of the best racing days of the year. Four Group 1 races and the start of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Punters rejoice at Derbe Day like kids on Christmas. They spend the days leading up excitable and nervous. However, if you're not one for hours of form and study but still wish to have a flutter, we have you covered.

We will help you with a few tips for Saturday's tremendous card based on your footy team.

Race 1

Fangirl- This one is a beauty to start off the day. It doesn't matter who you barrack for, if you've ever felt like a bit of a "fangirl" then this is a perfect bet for you. Fangirl will start favourite in the first and is a great way to get started.

Race 2

Great House- Fremantle and West Coast- One for the Western Australian's following Derby Day here. While the MCG holds historic significance, many would argue there is no better stadium in the country than Optus Stadium in Perth. Eagles and Dockers fans can take great pride in this and follow Great House as a result.

Race 3

Yearning- Richmond A simple one for the Tiger Army in the third event on the program. Yearning is easily spotted in the yellow and black and is a live winning chance.

Daisies- Carlton- If you've been following these pieces, Carlton fans should have made a nice profit off of Daisies last weekend. It backs up here and won't start anywhere near the $10 it did last start.

Race 4

Instant Celebrity- Western Bulldogs- No one in the AFL, arguably ever, has become more of an Instant Celebrity than Western Bulldogs star Bailey Smith. Smith has quickly become the most followed AFL player on Instagram and is now a cult figure across both the AFL and mainstream.

Race 5

Tofane- Carlton- This is a unique one but Carlton cult hero Fraser Brown actually owns Tofane. Probably best known for his tackle on Dean Wallis in the 1999 preliminary final, Brown no doubt is owed eternal support from Blues fans here.

Mystic Journey- Sydney- The superstar known as "Betty" to her loyal followers looks primed for this weekend and Swans fans will feel an instant connection with Mystic Journey given her red and white silks. Although she's a Tasmanian representative Swans fans should be on her here.

Flying Mascot- This was one we gave out last week and we are sticking with it. Adelaide, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Sydney, West Coast and even Essendon fans can lay claim to this one as they choose.

Race 6

Commander Harry- Carlton- Carlton fans are wild about Harry. Harry McKay is the reigning Coleman Medalist and was most definitely a commanding figure in the Blues forward 50.

Race 7

Home Affairs- Carlton- Nothing secret about this one. Home Affairs is draped from cap to jacket in navy blue.

Sword Of State- Richmond- This has been used already in this piece but the yellow and black will again catch the eyes of Tiger fans in the Derby.

Shaquero- North Melbourne- The sleeves are the key here. The blue and white hooped sleeves. Yes, Geelong has a monopoly over the hoops, but the Blue Shaquero runs with is very much more suited to the Kangaroos.

Race 8

Mr Brightside- Richmond- Jack Riewoldt has made The Killers' famous song Mr Brightside synonymous with the Richmond Football Club. The 2017 Grand Final after party was Riewoldt's crowning moment off the field. Also, Kahma Lass runs around in this one in the yellow and black... again.

Icebath- Western Bulldogs- Icebath is a Sydney raider but is a proud wearer of the tri-colours that belong to the Western Bulldogs. The Bulldogs and endured a tough end to their season and could use Icebath for a win here.

Race 9

September Run- Melbourne- No one had a better "September Run" than Melbourne. Arguably, no one has had a better run in September in recent memory. Add to that the obvious yet unavoidable pun with "The Trac" and track.

Minhaaj- Sydney- Swans fans can have Minhaaj in the last. The last start winner wears the red and white and comes down from New South Wales to try and claim a huge win in Victoria. Plenty of reasons to get behind her.
