GWS' list is currently in a state of flux, and there's uncertainty around some familiar names, but that shouldn't stop the club from luring rival players to west of Sydney.

The Giants have three key forwards out of contract, and are in desperate need to bolster its ruck stocks, especially given Richmond is interested in Nick Madden.

Some versatility is needed on their list, while top-end forward craft and hard-running utilities would fit the bill for Adrian Caruso and his player acquisition team.

4Bailey Banfield (Fremantle)

Banfield is a forgotten Docker, and hasn't played a game in 2026 as the club sits comfortably on top of the ladder.

Since 2022, the versatile left-footer has played 79 games as one of Justin Longmuir's first picked, but has failed to resume his role in the senior side.

Working in Banfield's favour is his ability to play multiple roles, and he has proven that throughout his 118 games in purple.

He can slot onto the wing as a tall-running option. He can play as a third-tall forward, given his mobility and athleticism allowing him to roam across the ground.

Banfield was also trialled in defence in a bid to get into the senior side, but was unable to push the likes of Luke Ryan and Heath Chapman out of the team.

As for the Giants, they need a versatile tall who can play multiple roles.

Their depth has been tested this season, and they'll need to look at bringing in established talent who can fill a vacancy.

The acquisition of Banfield may also cover the potential losses up forward in Toby Greene and any one of the key forwards out of contract.
