Premiership Eagle Will Schofield will lace up the boots again in 2025 to play for a local club in this year's Carlton Draft.

Drafting former AFL footballers to a winning entrant of the Carlton Draft, Schofield, along with four other previously announced ex-AFL stars, will support grassroots football for a day and play at the local level.

In 2025, five clubs will win the opportunity to have a former footballing legend play for their side, with three Victorian club winners to be announced, plus for the first time, a Western Australian and New South Wales local team will also be included.

In the initial launch, Geelong legend Tom Hawkins and 2004 Pick 1 Brett Deledio were announced, while ex-Docker Matthew Pavlich was also revealed as a draftee.

Premiership Pie Travis Cloke was later unveiled to have joined the trio of former superstars.

Schofield's announcement rounds out the final five players who will pull on a local club's guernsey in 2025.

Schofield, a 2018 premiership Eagle, played 194 games for the Western Australian side, and is thriving in a post-career media role, hosting his own podcast and production studio BackChat, as well as joining the Fox Footy coverage.

The announcement of Schofield's signing means one of the two storied WA club legends in Schofield and Pavlich will not play for the chosen WA local team.

The winning clubs and draft night is set to be held in late April.
