Carlton's Alex Fasolo has called time on his AFL career, with the 27-year-old announcing his decision to hang up his boots on Friday night.

Fasolo's 104-game career spanned nine seasons, after spending his first eight years with Collingwood.

The forward moved to the Blues at the end of the 2018 campaign, and played three games for Carlton in his only season with the club.

“I am content with my decision to leave the game having played nine years at the highest level,” Fasolo told the Blues' website.

“I want to thank the Carlton Football Club for giving me the opportunity to continue my career for an additional year and also say thank you to Collingwood for giving me my start and the initial chance to live out my dream.”
