Geelong's General Manager of Football Simon Lloyd spoke about the injury in a statement on the clubs website.

โ€œUnfortunately, this injury will see Jeremy miss several weeks,โ€ Simon Lloyd said.

โ€œOur medical and conditioning teams are working closely with Jeremy on his rehab program. It will be a matter of monitoring how he progresses to then determine a timeline on his return to football.โ€

The decision for Cameron to play over the weekend was riddled with controversy. Prior to the match, Cameron had complained of hamstring tightness. He underwent a pre-game fitness test which was cleared by the Geelong medicos.

In the early stages of the game, Cameron came out firing. He booted three of his side's first four goals of their 41-point victory. Unfortunately, he received a cork to the glute and was subbed out after further tightness occurred.

After the match, Geelong coach Chris Scott admitted that it was a line-ball decision about whether to play Cameron.

"Iffy's probably a good description of how it was pre-game," Scott said post-game.

"I think more than people realise, there are really hard decisions that need to be made by the medical staff and he had a bit of tightness their pre-game but they were confident the right decision was made for him to play."

Scott wanted to acknowledge the excellent work of his medical staff, and how difficult these decisions can be.

"I'd like to defend our medical staff as much as possible because they've done a fantastic job for us this year and this was one of those really challenging decisions."

"They've got really difficult decisions to make, they don't need to defer to a coach who's got no idea what he's talking about."

"He got a little bit of a cork up near his glute โ€ฆ his tightness was right down low in the hamstring. The medical staff are confident that he hasn't done a significant injury, but it was just not getting better."

With Jeremy Cameron now rehabbing from his 3rd hamstring injury, his season now becomes in doubt. Geelong will be extremely cautious as they help the forward rehab.

Geelong is hoping that the big forward is fit and healthy by the finals, as they look to win their 10th premiership cup.
