Each year AFL coaches are either put under scrutiny or praised for what they have done with the club's list and where their side has finished at the end of the year.

Whether it's a club going through a rebuild, a premiership contender, or a side failing to fulfil expectations, here is every coach ranked as safe, pressure-building, or under the pump heading into the 2027 season.

Adam Kingsley (GWS Giants)

Pressure building

Although Kingsley has taken the Giants to three consecutive finals series since getting the role in 2023, this season has been one of the weirdest and most frustrating for Kingsley's side.

They have defeated three of the top four sides and premiership favourites, including Fremantle, Geelong, Melbourne, Brisbane and Hawthorn, but have somehow been beaten by the likes of Essendon and West Coast, ruining their finals chances.

Kingsley is contracted until the 2028 season, but if the inconsistent form continues beyond 2026, and they continue to drop games they shouldn't, the coach could come severely under the pump.
