Every AFL club's squad for the 2027 season is coming together, so how does each team's back, midfield and forward line stack up with their rivals?
We at Zero Hanger will be going through all 18 clubs, analysing and ranking them 1-18 across all three thirds of the ground. We started with the backline last week, and now it is time to rank the forwards.
While the draft, delisted free agent signing period and trial spots remain for clubs to recruit players, the majority of each team's starting 23 are in place.
Focusing on the players at their disposal, their style of football in 2026, and with a look forward to Round 1, 2027, this is how we ranked every club 1-18 for its attack.
Port Adelaide

Forwards: Sam Powell-Pepper, Todd Marshall, Mitch Georgiades, Jack Whitlock, Joe Berry, Joe Richards, Christian Moraes, Tom Cochrane, Dougie Cochrane (expected), Mitch Zadow, Corey Durdin, Xavier Bamert, Luke Pedlar
The Power are building the framework for an imposing key forward line-up in future years.
The powerful Mitch Georgiades is already a dangerous figure in attack, while 20-year-old Jack Whitlock has a 200cm frame and is showing signs of becoming a quality key forward.
Port Adelaide will then add expected Pick 1 in this year's draft, Dougie Cochrane, who is a 195cm utility that can play anywhere, but will likely settle as a key forward. He has been so impressive as a draftee that, despite missing the majority of the season through injury, he is still the wide consensus to be the best player.
Small forward Joe Berry lifted in his second season, but the Power will want to see more continuity in the former first-round pick's game next year.
Jason Horne-Francis will be required more in the midfield in 2027 after Zak Butters' departure, which will hurt the Power given his skillset inside forward 50.
The green shoots are starting to grow for the Alberton-based club, but they are not oak trees just yet. There are still plenty of gaps in Port Adelaide's attack in terms of consistency, body size, and a lack of small forwards and half forwards.
