AFL reporter Mark Stevens believes Essendon star Joe Daniher could stay at the club.

Daniher requested a move to Sydney at the end of last season but a trade couldn't be facilitated.

The 26-year old is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of this season, meaning the Bombers have the right to match any offer he receives.

However, Stevens reports that Daniher's relationship with the club isn't as bad as perceived.

“I’m hearing that he’s now a really strong chance to stay at Essendon and recommit to the Bombers,” he said on RSN Central.

“He’s far more in-love with Tullamarine than the outside perception.”

Daniher hasn't played since Round 9 last season due to a string of injuries, but there is talk the Bombers star could make his season debut in the coming weeks.

Earlier this month Brisbane were linked to the 200cm tall forward, but reportedly want to see him play this year before making an offer.

Where do you think Daniher will go next season?
