Richmond forward Shane Edwards will swap his No. 10 for No. 67 for the Dreamtime at the 'G clash against Essendon later this month.

Edwards will wear 67 in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum that saw indigenous Australians included in census.

The match will be played on May 27 (which is the exact date 50 years ago), and on that day, 91% of people voted in favour of the referendum, which was the highest yes vote ever recorded.

"I am proud to wear the No.67 to commemorate such a significant year in our history," Edwards said.

"The changes to the Constitution provided an important step forward for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and this is an opportunity to celebrate it."

Despite missing the past five games with a hip injury, Edwards is expected to be fit to face the Bombers in what would be his ninth Dreamtime meeting.
