In the wake of standing down as Collingwood president, Eddie McGuire has also announced that he will step down from his media duties per The Age.

McGuire stepped down as president on Tuesday afternoon amid massive backlash from both Collingwood's 'Do Better' report and the immediate response from McGuire that followed.

In his last media conference on Tuesday, McGuire also stated that he would step away from all of his media commitments.

"With the indulgence of my media partners, I'm going to take a break for a little while to regroup and heal, so that's it." he said.

According to Jake Niall from The Age, sources close to McGuire have said that it might be as long as 'a few months' before he goes back to his roles within the media.

McGuire has called games on Fox Footy since the channel game back to Foxtel and also hosts pre-game shows as well as hosting Channel Nine's Footy Classified, but there is no set time on when he'll return to those commitments.

He also hosted Nine's Millionaire Hot Seat and hosted Triple M's Hot Breakfast for 11 years, before the plug was pulled in November.

The Pies announced today that both Mark Korda and Peter Murphy will be interim co-presidents whilst the club searches for a full-time successor.
