St Kilda have finalised a deal for Melbourne speedster Dean Kent.

The Saints secure Kent in exchange for pick 65 in the 2018 AFL Draft.

St Kilda list manager James Gallagher said Kent's speed and penetrating kick would be important to the Saints in 2019.

“Dean’s biggest strengths are his speed, power and penetrating kick," Gallagher told the club's website.

"These are attributes we’ve identified as pretty important for our group going forward and we’re excited to secure his services.

“He’s proven to be a dangerous forward during his career to this point, and we also think that he can play a role for us higher up the ground and through the midfield to add a different element to our current group.”

Kent was drafted with pick 48 in the 2012 Draft and averaged a goal a game in 63 matches for the Demons.
