Hawthorn has traded in Pick 22 in a bid to help land Essendon's Zach Merrett after completing a pick swap with Carlton.
The Hawks traded out Pick 9, 31, 42 and 43 (James Worpel compensation) for the Blues' Pick 10 and 22 (Jack Silvagni compensation).
The Bombers are likely to receive a revived offer for Merrett from Hawthorn, which would revolve around Picks 10 and 22, as well as the club's future first-round selection.
The Pick 42 came from Melbourne, which secured Changkuoth Jiath via a trade. The Hawthorn speedster signed a three-year deal at the Demons.
Trade approved.
