Greater Western Sydney ruck Kieren Briggs' move to Richmond has been confirmed by the AFL with the Giants receiving Pick 46 as compensation.

Briggs has joined Richmond on a four-year deal that will take him through until the end of 2030.

In the prime of his career, Briggs is 26 years old and will now form a partnership with Tigers captain and 32-year-old ruck Toby Nankervis.

The new Tiger has played 88 games for GWS since being taken with Pick 34 in the 2018 National Draft.

Nick Madden and Leek Aleer are now expected to take over the mantle as the Giants' primary rucks for 2027.

Although the club is eager to bring in an another experienced ruck. It has been reported the Giants are chasing the likes of Western Bulldogs' Tim English, St Kilda's Rowan Marshall and Sydney's Peter Ladhams.

GWS was handed a third round pick as compensation for losing Briggs as an unrestricted free agent. Now, the Giants hold Pick 7, 26, 29 and 46.
