Carlton has signed Collingwood small forward Alex Fasolo as an unrestricted free agent.

As compensation, the Magpies have received a third round pick (Pick 57), in which is straight after their original third round pick.

As an unrestricted free agent, Fasolo was able to move to a club of his choice.

Fasolo has struggled to make Collingwood's best 22 this season as he only managed one game after he played 19 games last year.

Fasolo's only game for the year ended early when he sustained a right ankle syndesmosis injury against St Kilda in round nine.

He played 12 games for Collingwood's VFL side where he kicked 24 goals.

The No.45 pick in the 2010 draft has scored 133 goals in 101 games at Collingwood as he looks to make an impact at Carlton.
