Western Bulldogs midfielder Matthew Kennedy has been given a one-match suspension for his bump on Sydney's Caiden Cleary.

The match review officer, Michael Christian, provided his findings from Friday's games on Saturday afternoon and found that Kennedy's decision to bump and make contact with Cleary's head was worthy of a week on the sidelines.

The incident occurred in the second quarter when Kennedy bumped Cleary in congestion on the edge of the Dogs' defensive 50m arc.

Christian deemed the action as forceful front-on contact and graded the incident as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

The Bulldogs have until early in the week to decide whether they will challenge the ruling. There is no early plea available.

Dogs key forward Will Lewis has been fined $1500 for staging in the fourth quarter.

Lewis received a knock from Sydney's Nick Blakey to the sternum late in the match and doubled over, lying on the ground for a considerable amount of time before returning to the game.

The hit was fairly innocuous.
