A move to North Melbourne could be on the cards for Demons key forward Tom McDonald.

North Melbourne have McDonald on their radar as they look to replace Ben Brown at the end of the season.

Fox Footy reported McDonald hasn’t requested a trade, but said he’s "eager for senior opportunities and will look elsewhere if needed”.

The 28-year-old played nine games for Melbourne this year, also spending some time on the sidelines as Same Weideman and Luke Jackson took his place.

If McDonald was to depart the Demons this year, the team will still have to pay his $700,000 per year wage until the end of 2022.

His exit meeting was scheduled for earlier this week.
