Melbourne legend Shaun Smith has taken to Facebook to comment about son Joel's injury problems at the Demons.

Shaun, who played 62 games for the Demons between 1995-1998, has responded to other comments on Facebook slamming the club and suggesting Melbourne's conditioning isn't up to the level it should be.

Joel Smith hurt his groin in the pre-season and is set to miss at least another fortnight, with Smith saying the club's "mismanaged" him.

“Clearly the conditioning is not up to scratch and players who have had opps (operations) have not been managed well," Smith wrote.

“Guess whose fault is that?

“Don’t even get me started about the mismanagement of my son.”

The Herald Sun has contacted Smith to confirm he was the author of the messages, and the Demons are aware of his comments.
