Greater Western Sydney midfielder Ryan Griffen did not take any part in the second half of the Giants' clash with North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Griffen sustained an ankle injury in the first half of the match and was forced from the ground.

He returned from the rooms in the second half on crutches.

GWS coach Leon Cameron said post-match, Griffen could miss several weeks.

"It's a pretty nasty ankle injury," Cameron said.

"We'll have to deal with that and see where it ends up in the next few days."
