Essendon key forward Joe Daniher has addressed the speculation surrounding his contract, and said he wants to remain at the Bombers beyond his current deal.

Daniher's contract runs out at the end of the current season, although it has been reported that a three-year deal worth close to $2m has been floated to Daniher's management.

The 23-year-old didn't confirm or deny the rumours telling the media on Monday "there's a lot of speculation about a lot of different things out there".

“Yeah (I want to stay), as I said, it’s a process that has gone on for a long period of time - I’ve been here since I was a 15-year-old kid. I’ll let them do their job and I’ll concentrate on playing football,” Daniher said.

"My management is doing a fantastic job behind closed doors and allowing me to focus on enjoying football and playing football.

"That's the critical thing - just let them do their job and let them work with the club and I can concentrate on trying to do the right thing for the footy club and playing my best football."

Daniher is in the middle of the best season of his career to date, with career highs in average disposals (16.2), goals (2.73), marks (7.09) and inside 50s (3.18).
