Essendon star forward Joe Daniher flew out to Los Angeles on Saturday after being granted leave by the club following his ongoing struggles with a groin injury.

Daniher has played just four matches for the Bombers this season after a recurring groin injury. The same injury that saw his 2018 season disrupted, seeing him only play the first seven games last season.

Daniher had surgery after he was added to the club’s injury list in late May following some groin trouble after his side’s win over Fremantle in Round 9. Daniher has since been ruled out of playing any matches for the remainder of the year.

The Bombers are fully supportive of the 25-year-old as he visits a friend in the US and continues to stay on top of his rehabilitation program whilst overseas and once he returns.
