Former Richmond forward Matt Coulthard has landed back with SANFL club Glenelg following his Punt Road departure.

Coulthard was delisted by the Tigers at the end of the 2025 AFL season, with the list call bringing an end to his 18-month stint with the club.

The 176cm forward was recruited to Richmond out of South Australia via the 2023 Mid-Season Draft as the fourth overall pick amid a promising campaign for Glenelg.

Coulthard would play four senior games for the Tigers by the end of his first season in the top flight, booting his first career goal against Melbourne in just his second game.

He would register a career-high 12 disposals and three tackles a week later against the Western Bulldogs prior to earning a one-year contract extension for the 2024 season.

Coulthard would manage just two appearances under coach Adem Yze last year, both coming as either the starting or ending sub.

He would play 16 games for the Tigers' VFL side last year also, amassing a return of 11 goals and an average of 11.7 disposals and 3.4 marks per game.

Coulthard now looks set for a season back in the SANFL with Glenelg, who are coming off a premiership campaign in the state league competition.

The Tigers took out the flag last September with a thrilling win over Norwood, and have since strengthened their 2025 prospects with the additions of ex-AFL names Jarryd Lyons and Paddy Parnell.

Glenelg's home and away campaign gets underway against Port Adelaide in the SANFL's 2025 opener on Friday, March 28 at Alberton Oval.
