Delisted Port Adelaide forward Lachlan Charleson has returned to Victoria to continue his football career, returning to his former local club East Point in the Ballarat Football Netball League.

Charleson was one of six Power players to be cut by the club at the cessation of the 2025 season, with the list call bringing an end to the 20-year-old's two-year spell at Alberton.

The GWS Rebels product didn't appear at AFL level during his time in South Australia, instead featuring for Port Adelaide's SANFL side on 31 occasions.

Sixteen of those games came this year, with Charleson averaging 1.3 goals per game from his mean of 7.8 possessions each outing.

Having since left the Power, Charleson has opted to return to the local football scene, signing with his old club East Point.

"The East Point Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce that Lachlan Charleson has signed on for the 2026 season," a club post read.

"A proud product of our East Point juniors, Lachie made his senior debut for the club as a 16-year-old before being drafted to the Port Adelaide Football Club in 2023. Over the past two seasons, he has been part of the Port Adelaide squad, developing his game at the elite level.

"In 2026, Lachie will return to Victoria to play VFL with Werribee, and we're thrilled that his home club will remain East Point.

"We can't wait to see him back in the Red, White and Blue, giving back to the club where it all began."

East Point managed to finish second on the BFNL ladder in 2025, claiming 14 wins from their 18 home and away fixtures.

The Kangaroos fell to Melton in the grand final by 27 points.
