Adelaide have revealed veteran Matt Crouch will miss over a month with a hip issue.
The Crows midfielder has been nursing the ailment for some time, with the club now deciding to manage the 30-year-old for the time being.
Crouch will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks after battling hip soreness in what is the latest blow for Matthew Nicks' side.
"Crows midfielder Matt Crouch will miss the side's clash against Carlton with a hip injury," a club injury update read.
"Crouch has been dealing with hip soreness and the decision has been made to give him time to recover so he can perform at his best when he returns.
"It's expected he will miss the next four to six weeks."
Crouch has played six of the Crows' seven games this year, having been managed for the club's Round 4 bout with Gold Coast.
He ranks No.1 at the Crows for disposals and clearances this year, while also sitting top five at the club for tackles and ground ball gets.
Crouch's absence will add to the injury of defender Nick Murray, who will miss a similar timeframe with a knee injury.
The Crows have backman James Borlase (ankle) and forward Darcy Fogarty (shoulder) listed as tests for this week, while flanker Mitch Hinge has been ruled out of the Round 8 clash with Carlton through suspension.
Adelaide will name their 23-man squad for the Adelaide Oval game at 6:20pm (AEST) on Friday, with final teams to be decided an hour out from Saturday's 4:15pm bounce.
