As the Anzac Day game is approaching between Essendon and Collingwood, I wondered what it would look like if both teams merged into one, who would make the final best 23 squad?
The squad, comprising of the 2026 team lists, had 15 Collingwood and eight Essendon players, headlined by stars like Nick Daicos, Zach Merrett, Josh Daicos and more.

Midfield
RUCK: Darcy Cameron, Nick Daicos, Zach Merrett
C: Jack Crisp, Darcy Parish, Steele Sidebottom
In the ruck is an obvious choice with Darcy Cameron tapping it down to the elite midfielders between the two sides, his ability to intercept as well puts him among the top rucks.
Following him will be none other than Nick Daicos, easily the best player among the two sides, and alongside him will be six-time best and fairest winner Zach Merrett.
Collingwood dominates the wing role with Jack Crisp and Steele Sidebottom lining up on either wing. To finish off the midfield would be Bombers ball-winner Darcy Parish, returning to form in 2026.
