Collingwood is set to be without Jeremy Howe and Harry Perryman, with the Pies hopeful both injuries are on the minor end.
Howe was sent to hospital with a suspected broken left arm. It was the same arm he broke in Round 1 2023, ironically against Geelong.
The high-flying Pie missed considerable time back then, but coach Craig McRae is hopeful this time isn't as bad.
“He's unfortunately got a fracture around the same place he fractured a few years ago… hoping it's on the minor end,” McRae told reporters post-match.
“He's gone to hospital to get it checked out, but the likelihood is he'll probably need an operation. It's probably too early to tell though until the surgeons and specialists have seen it.
“The things I've been told is it's on the minor end, but it may require an operation. Nothing like the last one… We'll know more in the next few hours, I would've thought.”
Howe played 69 per cent of the game time and was influential in defence. It becomes an intriguing time with his contract talks set to ramp up in the coming weeks as the season comes to a close.
Perryman came from the field with a hamstring injury in the second quarter, and Collingwood will get scans to determine the severity of the strain.
The former Giant missed four weeks between Rounds 9 and 12 with a hamstring injury.
"He's got a minor hamstring. The other side, then the one he did earlier in the year," McRae explained.
"Scans will reveal the nature of it, but at this stage, it's on the minor end."
Following the 25-point defeat to the Cats, the Pies dropped to ninth on the ladder with matches against West Coast, Hawthorn and Brisbane to come.
