Port Adelaide assistant coach Tyson Goldsack has left Alberton in favour of a move back to his former club, Collingwood.

Goldsack has been a key member of the Power's coaching ranks since joining the South Australian club in 2020 after calling time on his 165-game career. The 38-year-old was a list player for Port Adelaide in 2021 but did not feature at AFL level.

After six seasons with the club, Goldsack is returning to the Magpies, with who he won a premiership across a 13-year career in the black and white.

“We are excited to have Tyson return to the Club as an assistant coach. He is an outstanding person who has done a great apprenticeship at Port Adelaide over the past six years,” Magpies football boss Charlie Gardiner said.

“He is quickly developing a reputation as an excellent young coach and with a strong development background, he will be a terrific addition to our coaching group.

“We look forward to welcoming Goldy, his partner Chelsea and their children Harriet and Cleo back to the Club.”

The arrival of Goldsack comes after Collingwood coaches Scott Selwood, Andy Otten and Josh Fraser departed the club, opening up an array of roles under senior coach Craig McRae.

The Power have also undergone sweeping changes to their coaching cohort, with Stuart Dew, Luke Webster, Darren Reeves and Andy Collins all heading to Port Adelaide to start Josh Carr's tenure.

“Tyson has made an important contribution to our football club since joining us in 2020,” chief executive Matthew Richardson said.

“We thank Tyson for the last six years and wish him and his family all the very best as they make the move back to Melbourne.”

Both the Power and Magpies are yet to finalise their coaching groups for the 2026 season.
