Collingwood premiership defender Jeremy Howe has penned a one-year extension, while fellow tall Liam Puncher has been locked away until the end of 2028.
Howe's new deal will lock in a 17th season in the AFL, and make him the oldest player at the club following the departure of Scott Pendlebury.
The former Demon has been a pivotal part of Craig McRae's defence, and his leadership and guidance will be crucial to the Pies next year.
Puncher joined the club in the 2026 mid-season draft and made an immediate impact in the absence of captain Darcy Moore.
He played eight games in the black and white, translating his impressive form in the SANFL to the AFL.
“We are pleased to have two important defensive pillars of our Club sign new deals,” General Manager of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch said.
“Jeremy's leadership and guidance to his fellow defenders and across the ground is an important part of the structure of the team, while Liam has impressed in his short time at the Club with his competitiveness and defensive mindset.
“At only 23 years old, we look forward to seeing where Liam can take his footy over the next two years, while we know Jeremy will play a key role on-field but also in educating and guiding our next generation of young talent.”
Decisions on the futures of Ed Allan, Harrison Coe, Jai Saxena, Noah Howes and Tim Membrey have yet to be confirmed.
Although the club is working with Allan and Membrey on extensions, while Saxena has showed plenty of development in the VFL.
Howes debuted this year and featured while Coe pushed for an AFL opportunity after he was selected in the mid-season draft.
Collingwood farewelled Joel Cochran, Wil Parker, Mitch Podhajski, Jakob Ryan, Iliro Smit and Lachie Sullivan, after the group was informed they will not be offered contracts for 2027.
Steele Sidebottom also announced his retirement while Bobby Hill and the club parted ways.
