Collingwood have an interest in luring Carlton mid-season ruck Flynn Riley to Olympic Park in a bid to bolster its tall stocks.
The Pies found themselves wanting to improve their depth in the ruck once they lost Oscar Steene to an ACL injury, relying heavily on Darcy Cameron.
Steene is set to miss a chunk of 2027, and Collingwood don't want to turn to Dan McStay and Jack Buller as their next options.
Craig McRae and his list management team showed their desire to land a ruckman in the mid-season draft, and wanted Riley before the Blues swooped on him with the earlier picks. They drafted Harrison Coe four selections later.
According to AFL Media, Collingwood has renewed their interest and wants to trade for him.
Collingwood previously had interest during the mid-season period.
The Blues have put an offer forward to Riley but have more ruck stocks in their kit bag, and would be open to a deal.
Carlton has Marc Pittonet and Liam Reidy as first-choice rucks, while the emergence of Harry McKay as a pinch-hit tall and Hudson O'Keeffe has Josh Fraser confident in their group.
Riley made his AFL debut in Round 18 against Hawthorn, recording six disposals, 17 hit-outs, five tackles and a goal in the loss.
