Collingwood has announced the re-signings of young duo Will Hayes and Roan Steele to new deals.

Hayes, who was already contracted for next year, penned a two-year extension, taking him until the end of 2028. Steele also added a pair of seasons to his future at the Pies.

Hayes joined Collingwood with Pick 56 in the 2024 National Draft, and debuted in Round 11 against North Melbourne. He backed up that performance against Melbourne a fortnight later, where he kicked his first AFL goal.

The 19-year-old spent the vast majority in the VFL side, but showed impressive attributes at the top flight.

As for Steele, he walked into the AIA Centre via the mid-season draft from the WAFL club West Perth, and quickly made his presence felt, playing five matches, including the two finals, albeit as the sub.

"Roan and Will have both been fantastic additions to our program this year, and we are pleased with the progress and development they've shown within our four walls," Leppitsch said.

"It was great to see them both get opportunities at AFL level throughout 2025 and we look forward to seeing where they take their football over the coming years.

"Earlier in the year, we had a group of players, including Harry DeMattia, Harvey Harrison, Tew Jiath, Ned Long and Reef McInnes, all recommit. To add Roan and Will to this list is a great result for the Club and Magpie fans should be excited by the young talent coming through our ranks."

Calls on Lachie Sullivan, Tom Mitchell, Mason Cox and Noah Howes have yet to be confirmed by the club.

However, Sullivan appears more than likely to extend his time at the Pies, while Mitchell and Cox have been told to explore their options.
