Collingwood defender Marley Williams will miss the next "three or four weeks" with a foot injury, coach Nathan Buckley confirmed on Monday night.

Williams suffered the injury during the first half of the Pies' loss to St Kilda on Saturday.

"He's had a sprain in his foot, so he's injured a ligament there that'll be in a boot for two weeks," Buckley told Fox Footy.

"Then we'll see how it goes on the other side of it.

"We've played 12 defenders in the first three weeks so we're looking for a little bit of continuity."

Williams collected three disposals against the Saints before being injured.

On a brighter note for the Magpies, they will welcome back Steele Sidebottom from a two week suspension for their clash with Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday.
