The Claremont Tigers have signed former Hawk Teia Miles and former Swan Jack Maibaum for the 2023 WAFL season.

Both players plied their trade in Victoria as bottom-agers and subsequently AFL-listed players, but neither have been on an AFL list in the last two years.

Maibuam has been in the VFL Team of the Year in both of the past two years, finishing runner-up in the 2020 Coburg best-and-fairest.

He joined Sydney in 2016 before a battle with injuries to see his time at the Swans end in 2019.

Miles joined Maibuam in the 2022 VFL Team of the Year after 12 games for the Hawks and a premiership with their affiliate club Box Hill in 2019.

He has spent the past two years playing at Williamstown but has a family link to Claremont where his father Geoff played in their 1991 premiership triumph.

Miles played 12 games for Hawthorn between 2015-2019, claiming Box Hill's leading goalkicker award in 2016 and a VFL premiership two years later.

The Tigers expressed excitement about the signings as they look to avenge their tight grand final loss next year.

Claremont amassed a grand final finish this season, going down to West Perth by 12 points in the season decider.
