Carlton ruckman Flynn Riley has requested a trade to Collingwood, informing both clubs of his desire to make the switch between the arch rivals.
Riley joined the Blues via the 2026 Mid-Season Draft, and debuted in Round 18 against Hawthorn, recording six disposals, 17 hit-outs, five tackles and a goal in the loss.
The Pies previously held interest in the tall prospect, but were beaten to the punch in the mid-year intake.
The Pies found themselves wanting to improve their depth in the ruck once they lost Oscar Steene to an ACL injury, relying heavily on Darcy Cameron.
Steene is set to miss a chunk of 2027, and Collingwood don't want to turn to Dan McStay and Jack Buller as their next options.

According to AFL Media, Carlton had tabled a two-year deal to Riley, but he was convinced to head to the Pies on a three-season contract.
Carlton has Marc Pittonet and Liam Reidy as first-choice rucks, while the emergence of Harry McKay as a pinch-hit tall and Hudson O'Keeffe has Josh Fraser confident in their group.
Collingwood has multiple selections that should be able to get a deal completed swiftly once the trade period opens in October.
The Pies hold Picks 61, 63 and 70 that will be used in negotiations. They also have the capacity to use future selections.
