The Western Bulldogs have confirmed that star midfielder Adam Treloar will miss the next six weeks with a calf injury sustained against Richmond on Sunday.

Treloar was subbed out in the second quarter against the Tigers but the initial diagnosis was calf tightness, however scans have revealed a greater extent to the injury.

The 32-year-old has missed a large chunk of the 2025 season already to date, having played just four games this season due to other persistent calf issues.

The 2024 All Australian initially suffered the injury in January, followed by another setback in May which increased his time on the sidelines by a month.

Despite the listing of calf tightness mid-game, Luke Beveridge held fears for its significance given it was another soft tissue complaint for the midfielder.

"He's had a fair few over the journey," Beveridge said on Treloar on Sunday.

"For us to sub him out that early in the game, there's a degree of significant concern. As usual, it's difficult to tell the extent of the injury."

The Bulldogs confirmed on Monday that the tear was a moderate-grade injury, meaning Treloar will miss at least the next six weeks.

It leaves Treloar in a race to reach fitness and form in time for the Bulldogs' run home to September, with the club currently narrowly inside finals calculations.

Should Treloar miss the anticipated six weeks at minimum, he will return for potentially the final three weeks of the home and away season, but will miss crucial clashes against Adelaide, Brisbane and GWS.
