Young out of contract Brisbane forward, Josh Schache, will be one of the hottest properties this trade period.

The 19-year-old was recruited with pick No.2 in the 2015 National Draft and appears to have a bright future in front him.

However, he is yet to re-commit to the Lions, amid reports he wants to return home to Victoria.

Several Victorian clubs, most notably, Richmond, are said to be wiling to table large offers for Schache and he could fetch close to $1 million per season on the open market.

But what are the Lions prepared to offer him to retain his services?

FoxSports reports Brisbane has offered Schache a base contract of $350,000 per season to re-sign with the club. The deal would include incentives, which could see him earn around $500,000 per year.

The offer is reportedly a two or three year deal.

The offer is unlikely to be enough to keep the youngster, with Lions' champion, Jonathan Brown suggesting it would take around $600,000 per year to secure the youngster, an amount which Brisbane is not prepared to pay.

Schache has so far played 23 career games for the Lions since making his debut in round one, 2016, kicking 22 goals.
