If Brisbane claim it second-three peat of premierships on Saturday against Fremantle at the MCG, Lions champion Simon Black will present the cup.
Black is a Brisbane icon, playing a crucial role in the club's three consecutive flags in the early 2000s, and is the current club games record holder.
The classy midfielder notched up 322 games between 1998 and 2013, won the 2002 Brownlow Medal, 2003 Norm Smith Medal and co-captained the club in 2007 and 2008.
Black also won the club's best and fairest on three occasions, and was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
“It is an incredible honour to be asked by the Lions to present the Premiership Cup if the boys are able to get the job done on Saturday," he said.
“I was genuinely humbled when the club called, and it's a moment that will mean a great deal to me and my family.
“The Lions have been such a big part of my life, I have enormous respect for Fages and the team and I know how much work goes into earning a place on the stage on Grand Final day.
“If the opportunity comes, it would be incredibly special to hand the cup to this team and share that moment with our players.”
Lions chief executive Sam Graham was stoked Black accepted the club's invitation.
“Simon Black is one of the greatest Lions to ever pull on the jumper and his impact on our football club is still felt today," he said.
“For our fans, Blacky remains a symbol of the Lions' premiership legacy and the standards that continue to drive our club.
“We're thrilled he has accepted, as it is a fitting recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the Brisbane Lions and to our game in Queensland.”
Black will share the honours with inaugural Fremantle Docker Shaun McManus, who is the club's premiership cup presenter.
