Hawthorn's James Sicily will miss one week after the AFL Tribunal found him guilty of stomping on North Melbourne's Shaun Atley during their clash on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred in the second quarter of the Roos' win, with Sicily standing on Atley's leg while the midfielder was on the ground.

It was sent to the Tribunal after Match Review Officer Michael Christian deemed the incident as "serious misconduct."

Sicily will now miss Hawthorn's match against St Kilda on Saturday.
