Port Adelaide young gun Mitch Georgiades has been involved in a road accident, the club has confirmed.

Georgiades was not injured from the incident and was able to aid police with their inquiry.

In a statement released by Port Adelaide, the club revealed that the 19-year-old was obedient to driving standards, with the incident listed as "minor".

"The Port Adelaide Football Club is aware forward Mitch Georgiades was involved in a minor road accident on Thursday morning," the statement reads.

"Georgiades remained at the scene and cooperated with police. He was not injured in the incident.

"There is no suggestion of impropriety on Georgiades’ behalf."

Georgiades is currently nursing a hamstring injury ahead of his side's preliminary final next week and is tipped to return to Ken Hinkley's side for the encounter.

The key forward has played 28 games for the Power since making his debut last season.
