Hawthorn veteran Luke Hodge will appeal a one-match suspension at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night in a bid to overturn his ban and face Richmond on Sunday afternoon.
Hodge was handed his third fine of the season after an incident involving Sydney's Tom Papley in the second quarter of Friday night's win over the Swans at the MCG.
The 33-year-old was handed a one-match ban due to it being his third suspension, after the Match Review Panel deemed the incident as careless conduct with low impact to the body.
There's hope yet. ๐ญ

If Hodge loses his appeal, he will be handed a one-match ban and a $2500 fine, but if he is successful, he will be free to play the Tigers on Sunday.
"Weโre confident that we have a case to argue and based on that, weโve made the decision to challenge the sanction," Hawthorn football manager Jason Burt told the club's website.
The AFL Tribunal will sit at 5.30pm on Tuesday night and will just hear Hodge's case, after all other players including Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield accepted their sanctions.
