Adelaide could find itself without recently re-signed forward Mitch McGovern for Friday night's preliminary final against Geelong.

McGovern "reported soreness in his hamstring" following the club's training session on Saturday, the Crows confirmed in a statement on Sunday afternoon.

Adelaide said McGovern will "undergo further medical investigation" and will provide an update later in the week.

He missed nearly three months earlier this season after tearing his right hamstring in round three.

McGovern, who recently signed a three-year contract extension, has kicked 20 goals in 13 games this season.
