Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern has requested a trade, just 12 months after signing a three-year contract extension to remain at the Crows.

The 23-year-old informed the Crows on Tuesday, with Adelaide's Head of Football Brett Burton confirming the news to the club's website.

โ€œWe are open minded and happy to explore the options available with Mitch and his manager,โ€ Burton told afc.com.au.

โ€œHowever, the needs of the Club will be held as a high priority in any possible negotiation, especially given he is a contracted player.โ€

McGovern has played 48 games for the Crows, and has kicked 67 goals in his three seasons at the club.
