The AFL have confirmed their fixture list for Round 20, with venues for the two unannounced games locked in on Thursday.

With the COVID pandemic and lockdown restrictions stemming from it playing havoc with national sporting bodies, the AFL have been boosted by Melbourne coming out of lockdown this week.

While crowds will not be allowed in the Victorian capital, it's a far better situation than the league are currently dealing with in Sydney, where the city remains in lockdown and will do so until the end of August, at the very earliest.

The Gold Coast have been confirmed to host the Melbourne Demons at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon, while the GWS Giants will also take their home game against the Port Adelaide Power north to Metricon Stadium, with it to bounce at 3:10pm on Sunday.

The AFL have announced that Melbourne will travel into the Gold Coast via charter flight on Saturday, before going directly to Perth to begin a quarantine period ahead of their Round 21 clash with the West Coast.

The Giants are already located in Queensland, however, the Power will fly in on Sunday and then return to Adelaide immediately after the match, also on a charter flight.

All travelling teams will be on strict arrangements with state governments to allow the matches to proceed.

The league had previously locked in that the Western Bulldogs would take their game to Ballarat, while North Melbourne will play Geelong in Hobart and Hawthorn would host the Lions in Launceston.
