Carlton looks set to make a charge in 2021 as they chase another big fish to add to their squad.

Giant Zac Williams is already on his way to the Blues while Essendon speedster Adam Saad is hoping a trade can be worked out between the arch-rivals after the Bombers defender officially requested a move to the Blues earlier this month.

Even with the star duo potentially on their salary cap for season 2021, Carlton will reportedly still have room to add another player along with the financial calibre of Saad and Williams.

Jordan De Goey has been linked with a move to the Blues, although the club has come out and said they are not interested in the Collingwood forward.

But it still looks likely that David Teague will add further firepower into his squad for the coming 2021 season.

"It seems like you can’t go a single day without a big name player being linked to the Blues,” AFL Media’s Riley Beveridge said on Trade Desk.

“Whether it’s someone like Lachie Hunter, Clayton Oliver, Ollie Wines - all of those players have been linked to the Blues in recent weeks.

“My information is it might be a player not at their level though. There’s room for maybe one or two more, but potentially not at that superstar level, someone who’s on the next rung down.

“We’ve seen Zac Williams and Adam Saad already commit, maybe a player on their type of money around that $700,000-$800,000 a year mark is what they have room to fit in.”
