Carlton forward Jack Martin looks set for a stint on the sidelines after scans confirmed he suffered a low-grade calf strain during the Blues' 48-point win over Adelaide at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

Carlton has confirmed Martin will miss 1-2 weeks as he tries to break into the exciting Blues lineup.

Martin, who went pick number one in the 2012 mini-draft, and moved to Princes Park in 2020 on a front-ended contract worth upwards of $1 million, has struggled to find form in his time at the club, averaging 12.36 disposals from his 33 games in which he's kicked just 26 goals.

Martin has had a stop-start campaign in 2022, missing round two due to the covid health and safety protocols and returning as the medical sub in round three.

He has struggled to get going in his seven matches, averaging 9.3 disposals and 2 tackles per game.
