Danny McGinlay (or as we know him, The Banner Man) has done it again, with four poetic banners taking carefully crafted jabs at the opposition.
The comedian has taken a fair crack at tonight's line up, referencing Scott Pendlebury, the Dreamtime game and Ross Lyon as well as appealing to the suffering of fans lower on the ladder (sorry Bombers and Tigers).
Richmond and Essendon seem to be racing to the bottom this week and McGinlay doesn't shy away from referencing this in his imagined banner. Rather than his traditional style of picking on the opposition, both fall into the self deprecating category, with the Essendon banner suggesting that the Dreamtime game is more like a nightmare for Bombers fans.
Richmond fans fare no better with the banner featuring a plea from the club for fans to not get too drunk during the game, just in case they need to play the final quarter. This cheeky line is a reference to Richmond's ever growing injury list (which currently boasts 18 players) that has the Tigers scrambling to pull together a team this week.
Turning his wit to a slightly more successful team, McGinlay uses his mock Fremantle banner to bring up the man everyone is talking about this week: Scott Pendlebury. The banner claims Freo is so sick of hearing about him, that they're willing to break a decades old rivalry and root for the Eagles this weekend.
St Kilda's banner takes a turn back towards the self deprecating, with a request to Freo to please take Ross Lyon back. Lyon initially left St Kilda to coach Fremantle from 2012 until 2019. He then moved back to St Kilda in 2023. With Fremantle having one of the most successful years to date, St Kilda fans are sure to get a chuckle from the banner's reference, even the Dockers are likely to get the last laugh.
Richmond
Watching Richmond on a Friday night
Should be an absolute rip snorter
But Tiges fans, please don't have too many beers
We might need you to play the final quarter.
Essendon
It's Dreamtime at the G
Normally a grand affair
But let's be honest, being a Bomber in 2026
This dream is a bloody nightmare!
Fremantle
This week had too much Pendlebury chat
It's really got under our skin
Tomorrow might be the only time
Even we want the Eagles to win.
St Kilda
This season has been disappointing
We've given it a fair crack
But it's worth double checking
Hey Freo- do you want to take Ross back?
